Photo requirements for Canadian passports are substantially different from the US requirements.
We take photos that will meet those requirements.
The size for a Canadian passport photo is 2¾"(70mm) high by 2"(50mm) wide. US passport photos are 2"x2" (50mmx50mm).
 The required dimension of the face in a Canadian passport photo is 31mm to 36mm, a little bigger than for the US Passport. The background color, angle that the photo is taken from, and the facial expression are VERY specific for the Canadian Passport Photo. These requirements are STRICTLY enforced, so using Lake Shore Camera Exchange for your Canadian Passport photos is the best way to get your photos approved the first time.
The photographer (that's us) has to put his name and address on the back of one of the photos. We also put the date that the picture is taken on the back.
A guarantor is a specific person that has to certify that it's a true likeness of the applicant. See the Canadian Passport site to find out more as to who may qualify. We are not the guarantor

One photo must be signed by a guarantor as a true likeness of the applicant, unless the passport application is being made through the Simplified Renewal Application Process. If that is the case, no guarantor is necessary.

We charge $25 for a set of 2 Canadian passport photos. Additional copies made at the same time are only $4 per pair.
No appointment is necessary for Passport photos. If you are at the store 60 minutes before closing time, you can have your photos while you wait (about 10-20 minutes). If you live in St. Petersburg, FL or Tampa, FL, you should know we're only about 20 or 30 minutes away. See our map for directions and hours of operation.
